What is a bonus?
A bonus provides you with free money for trading and is normally offered by a broker as an incentive to attract new clients who can then try trading with little or no risk.
There are different types of bonus offers and requirements for getting the bonus paid out to your account. We detail these below.
No deposit bonus
The “no deposit bonus” is the most lenient of bonuses, as it does not require you to deposit any funds at all before you get the bonus. Normally a broker wants you to at least deposit some funds with them before you can get your bonus, but with a “no deposit” bonus they allow anyone to get the bonus after creating a new account.
Note that there might still be requirements to fulfil before you can get your trading profits paid out, and those requirements might be stricter for this kind of bonus than for others. Normally you have to trade a certain total volume before you can withdraw the profits derived from the bonus money.
Considering how generous it is to hand out free money to new traders, that makes a lot of sense. Make sure you are ok with those requirements before you sign up.
Welcome bonus
A “welcome bonus” is a way to reward new traders who sign up for an account, to make them feel welcome and to make it easier for new clients to start trading right away. A welcome bonus might require you to make a deposit, so make sure you agree with the bonus requirements before you sign up.
Deposit match bonus
The “deposit match bonus” will match a percentage of your deposit, up to a certain maximum amount.
For example, if the bonus is a 30% match up to $5,000, and you deposit $1,000, you will get an additional $300 from the broker ($1,000 * 30%). With this example offer the most you can get is $5000, which you would get when depositing at least $16,667 ($16,667 * 30% = $5,000). Even if you deposit more than that, you will still only get the maximum $5,000.
Note – we have seen alternate definitions of the maximum amount, where 30% match up to $5,000 would rather mean that even if you deposit more that $5,000, you will only get the 30% paid out on $5,000. In other words, the maximum amount pertains to the maximum deposit on which you will get the 30% bonus, and NOT how much bonus you can maximally get.
OBS! For a serious trader the distinction between the two maximum amount definitions can make a big difference, so make sure you understand the requirements before signing up and depositing.
Considerations

In india, there is a principle law relating to the procedure of payment of bonus to the employees and that law is named as payment of bonus act, 1965.
The payment of bonus act applies to every factory and establishment which employs not less than 20 persons on any day during the accounting year. The establishments covered under the act shall continue to pay the bonus even if the no of employees falls below 20 subsequently.
Note: bonus is to be paid within 8 months of closing the book of accounts.
Payment of bonus act applicability
The payment of bonus act applies to the whole of india. The provision of this act applies to the following factories / establishments / companies:-
- The factory defined under clause section 2 of the factories act 1948.
- Every establishment in which 20 or more persons employed on any day during an accounting year.
- The act also applies to public sectors in some cases.
- Part-time employees also included.
When is the employee eligible for the bonus?
Every employee drawing not less than rs. 21,000/- per month and who has worked for not less than 30 days in an accounting year shall be eligible for the bonus. Every employee will be entitled to be paid by his employer in an accounting year, bonus, in accordance with the provisions of this act, provided he has worked in the establishment for not less than 30 working days in that year.
When an employee is not eligible for the statutory bonus but the company wants to share bonus, it can be given as ex-gratia.
Minimum bonus
Previously, the maximum bonus payable was 20% of rs 3500 per month. The minimum bonus payment was capped at 8.33% of rs 3500 per month or rs 100, whichever is higher. The calculation ceiling of rs 3500 is currently doubled to rs 7000 per month “or the minimum wage for the scheduled employment, as fixed by the appropriate government” (whichever is higher). Therefore, the cost associated with bonus payments could be double, based on the organization’s performance.
Calculation of bonus as per bonus act (amendment of 2015)
If the gross earning of your employees is below rs.21000 you are eligible to pay bonus. Calculation of bonus will be as follows:
- If basic+DA is below rs.7000 then bonus will be calculated on the actual amount.
- If basic+DA is above rs.7000 then the bonus will be calculated on rs.7000.

Examples of calculation of bonus
Rahul is working as an engineer in a company in bangalore. His basic salary is rs. 6,500 per month.
Formula: basic salary*8.33% = bonus per month
6500*8.33% = 541.45 (6497.4 per annum)
- If the basic salary of the employee is higher than rs 7,000
Siddharth is working as a sales officer in one of the shops in delhi. His basic salary is rs. 18,000 per month.
Formula: basic salary*20% = bonus per month
- If the basic salary of the employee is higher than rs 21,000
There is no bonus applicable to employees having a basic salary of more than rs 21,000.
Exempted establishments
The payment of bonus act will not apply to the following section of employees:
- The employees of life insurance company
- Seamen defined under clause 42 of the merchant shipping act 1958.
- Employees who registered or listed under the dock workers act 1948 and employed by the registered or listed employers.
- The employees of any industry controlled by central or state government.
- Employees from indian red cross society or education institutions, institutions not for profit.
- Employees employed by the contractor on building operations
- Reserve bank of india(RBI) employees
- Employees of any financial corporation under the section 3 or section 3a of the state financial corporation act (SFC) 1951
- Employees of IFCI, deposit insurance corporation, agriculture refinance corporation.
- Any financial institution is an establishment in public sector which central government notifies.
- The employees of inland water transport establishment

The sneaker giant’s 12,000 portland-area employees have a whole laundry list of issues to worry about: the pandemic, big financial losses, looming layoffs, a new CEO with a new executive team and new expectations.
But last friday brought an old and beloved nike tradition that eased the pain. It was annual bonus day, when thousands of qualifying employees can receive 5% to 30% of their annual pay in one lump sum. With many nike employees pulling down six-figure salaries, the annual bonuses commonly amount to $10,000-$15,000 -- and for some employees, much more.
The bonus comes not in the form of stock or stock options. There is no vesting period. It’s not nike monopoly money good for 20% off at the nearest niketown.
It’s cash -- an instant windfall in your wallet.
One employee said after her first eleven months with nike her bonus exceeded $65,000.
And this was an annual bonus day like no other. In a normal year, these so-called performance sharing plan (PSP) bonuses are predicated on the company meeting profitability goals. But COVID-19 derailed nike’s momentum and it lost $790 million in its fourth quarter.
So company leadership decided to jettison the normal formula and award 100% of the bonus to all eligible employees. One employee characterized it as a “goodwill gesture” from new CEO john donahoe.
In its annual proxy statement, nike said the goal was to “reward strong pre-pandemic performance and to ensure sustained employee engagement and retention, and drive business results during an unprecedented period of transition.”
Few things sustain your engagement like getting an extra $15,000 in your paycheck.
The company declined to offer additional detail.
For some, the bonus could be a going-away present. Nike divulged last month that it intends to lay off an unspecified number of employees. It has filed notice with the state that at least 500 people will be let go in oregon.
Bonuses are commonplace among large corporations. In a 2018 survey of mid-to-large publicly-traded companies, more than 84% of the respondents said they pay retention bonuses, spot cash awards (to individuals for notable accomplishments) and annual payments like nike does.
Worldatwork, a scottsdale, ariz.-based professional association for HR and compensation managers, conducted the poll. The bonuses typically range in size from 5.6% and 34% of employees’ salary, it found.
The one-two punch of the coronavirus and recession are making 2020 the leanest year for bonuses since the depth of the great recession in 2008 and 2009, according to mercer consulting, an authority on compensation, benefits and retirement plan issues.
“all my clients are trying to figure this out,” said tracy bean, a manager in mercer’s seattle office. “it was COVID-19 that hurt their financial results and made it difficult to impossible to make their goals. It wasn’t anything employees did.”
Brian yarbrough, a stock analyst who follows nike for edward jones, lauded the decision to pay the full bonuses. It “gives workers some skin in the game.” plus, it’s a smart play for donahoe, who replaced mark parker in january.
“donahoe is the new guy, this will help him generate some goodwill,” yarbrough said.
Donahoe and his fellow executives also participate in the PSP bonus plan. And they too faced severely reduced bonuses or even none at all given the disappointing 2020 results. But the executives also got special dispensation. According to the company’s 2020 proxy statement, the nike board of directors opted to pay the executives’ discretionary bonuses. They ranged from $1.57 million for matthew friend, nike’s new chief financial officer, to $6.75 million for donahoe.
Donahoe’s $6.75 million bonus was part of a sumptuous compensation package nike valued at more than $53 million.
It’s not just employees who look forward to nike bonus day. So do area car dealers, realtors, and retailers. Romano boiciuk, general manager of mercedes benz of beaverton, said it’s always good to see nike employees stroll onto his lot.
“as far as I’m concerned, most of these nike employees don’t need to wait for their annual bonus,” boiciuk said. “they can buy a mercedes any time they want. I look at how much money they make, and I think geez, I’m in the wrong business.”

Daily bonus
Daily bonuses are a way for players to get bonus items during specific days. Players with patron are granted increased bonuses. Each daily bonus happens within a 24 hour time-frame.
Each day at 4AM server time (7AM EST) the daily bonus resets, allowing players obtain a new daily bonus.

- Triple radiant shard drops
- 40% bonus harvest chance
- 100% bonus ore chance
- Triple fishing speed
On tuesday, players will have a chance to gather more resources.
This includes a guaranteed increase to radiant shard drops, a chance to obtain additional ores and harvested resources, and an increase to fishing speed.
This also increases the chance for ores and plants to drop additional items including miner's troves (from adventure worlds), the nimble nimbus mount (in the radiant ruins) and dragon egg fragments.
Wednesday - gem day

Non-patron:
- Gem upgrade dust cost reduced by 10%
- 25% bonus gem box drop chance
- Dungeons can drop up to 3 lustrous gem boxes
patron bonus:
- Gem upgrade dust cost reduced by 20%
- 50% bonus gem box drop chance
- Dungeons can drop up to 6 lustrous gem boxes
On wednesdays, players will be able to obtain and upgrade gems more efficiently.
This includes a chance to obtain a second gem box of the same type after receiving one, decreasing the gem dust cost of upgrading gems, and granting a chance to obtain lustrous gem boxes, which can contain gem dust or gem augments.
Thursday - adventure day

Non-patron:
- Earn 50% more adventurine
- Double chance to find adventure boxes

patron bonus:
- Earn 100% more adventurine

On thursdays, players will have a chance to obtain more rewards from adventuring.
This includes an increased chance of finding adventure boxes and talismans, as well as additional adventurine from club and outpost adventures.
Friday - dragon day

History
Trove started off having 100% cubit bonuses on weekends, but after patch - 4/28/15, daily bonuses were introduced, from more harvesting drops to additional shard drops. After the heart attack patch, glim and double cubit bonuses were removed for additional bonuses and before the patch - 6/22/16 there was a 50% (100% for patron user) faster fishing bonus that was replaced with bonus gem boxes.
Prior to the heroes patch, the monday bonus granted +20% drops from gardening, tuesday granted +50% ore drops, wednesday granted +25% gem box drops, thursday granted +200% adventure loot drops, friday granted +100% radiant and shadow shard drops, saturday granted +50% adventure experience, and sunday granted +50% battle arena win experience. All of these bonuses were doubled for patrons.
After the update, the bonuses were changed to what they currently are due to player requests, including monday becoming shadow day due to players often completing shadow towers on the first day of the reset, tuesday including a bonus to fishing speed (however, this also means that bonus fishing weeks will no longer occur due to technical limitations), wednesday allowing for lustrous gem boxes to be obtained (including a chance for gem augments), thursday including an increase to adventurine drops, friday increasing dragon coin and dragon egg fragment drops, saturday including more types of experience and sunday increasing flux income.

With many nike employees pulling down six-figure salaries, the annual bonuses commonly amount to $10,000-$15,000 -- and for some employees, much more.
The bonus comes not in the form of stock or stock options. There is no vesting period. It’s not nike monopoly money good for 20% off at the nearest niketown.
It’s cash -- an instant windfall in your wallet.
One employee said after her first eleven months with nike her bonus exceeded $65,000.
And this was an annual bonus day like no other. In a normal year, these so-called performance sharing plan (PSP) bonuses are predicated on the company meeting profitability goals. But COVID-19 derailed nike’s momentum and it lost $790 million in its fourth quarter.
So company leadership decided to jettison the normal formula and award 100% of the bonus to all eligible employees. One employee characterized it as a “goodwill gesture” from new CEO john donahoe.
In its annual proxy statement, nike said the goal was to “reward strong pre-pandemic performance and to ensure sustained employee engagement and retention, and drive business results during an unprecedented period of transition.”
Few things sustain your engagement like getting an extra $15,000 in your paycheck.
The company declined to offer additional detail.
For some, the bonus could be a going-away present. Nike divulged last month that it intends to lay off an unspecified number of employees. It has filed notice with the state that at least 500 people will be let go in oregon.
Bonuses are commonplace among large corporations. In a 2018 survey of mid-to-large publicly-traded companies, more than 84% of the respondents said they pay retention bonuses, spot cash awards (to individuals for notable accomplishments) and annual payments like nike does.
Worldatwork, a scottsdale, ariz.-based professional association for HR and compensation managers, conducted the poll. The bonuses typically range in size from 5.6% and 34% of employees’ salary, it found.
The one-two punch of the coronavirus and recession are making 2020 the leanest year for bonuses since the depth of the great recession in 2008 and 2009, according to mercer consulting, an authority on compensation, benefits and retirement plan issues.
“all my clients are trying to figure this out,” said tracy bean, a manager in mercer’s seattle office. “it was COVID-19 that hurt their financial results and made it difficult to impossible to make their goals. It wasn’t anything employees did.”
Brian yarbrough, a stock analyst who follows nike for edward jones, lauded the decision to pay the full bonuses. It “gives workers some skin in the game.” plus, it’s a smart play for donahoe, who replaced mark parker in january.
“donahoe is the new guy, this will help him generate some goodwill,” yarbrough said.
Donahoe and his fellow executives also participate in the PSP bonus plan. And they too faced severely reduced bonuses or even none at all given the disappointing 2020 results. But the executives also got special dispensation. According to the company’s 2020 proxy statement, the nike board of directors opted to pay the executives’ discretionary bonuses. They ranged from $1.57 million for matthew friend, nike’s new chief financial officer, to $6.75 million for donahoe.
Donahoe’s $6.75 million bonus was part of a sumptuous compensation package nike valued at more than $53 million.
It’s not just employees who look forward to nike bonus day. So do area car dealers, realtors, and retailers. Romano boiciuk, general manager of mercedes benz of beaverton, said it’s always good to see nike employees stroll onto his lot.
“as far as I’m concerned, most of these nike employees don’t need to wait for their annual bonus,” boiciuk said. “they can buy a mercedes any time they want. I look at how much money they make, and I think geez, I’m in the wrong business.”

The one day bonus video has been produced by agora financial however I personally heard about it by being subscribed to the money map press daily newsletter. Agora is a well known financial publishing company who have been behind dozens of popular websites and videos on the topic of finance and investing.
The one day bonus video reminds me a lot of similar videos they have produced such as federal rent checks and freedom checks which also talk about receiving large sums of money for the average investor, although in these specific examples there is a different person in the video rather than zach scheidt who appears in the one day bonus video.

How does one day bonus work?
One day bonus is actually pretty simple and is to do with stock investing.
The video from zach talks about a number of things such as how in the past people would have to work 100+ hour weeks on wall street just to profit from these buyouts of big companies and then those people would receive a one day bonus check and literally be able to retire from that one bonus.
But now things work differently and there’s actually a way for you to profit from these huge buyouts too.
The one day bonus video actually promotes a program called the buyout millionaires club, the name “one day bonus” is just a fun sounding name to catch your attention and get you excited at the prospect of earning these bonus checks.
Is one day bonus A scam?
After taking a closer look at the website, watching the video and looking at who the company behind the video I’m happy to say it’s NOT a scam.
Whilst the video is certainly a little hyped and does talk about huge amounts of money in the form of bonus checks, the reason I don’t believe it’s a scam is because it’s from agora who are well respected in the financial publishing niche. They have been behind dozens of different videos promoting newsletters and have been around for many years also.
One day bonus negatives
Despite me happily stating that it’s NOT a scam there are still a few negatives which I’d like to spend a few moments talking about.
The first negative is the simple fact that this is really not for everyone. When watching the video you could easily think that these one day bonus checks could apply to you and that you can just click a few buttons and follow a few simple steps to start earning them. That’s simply not the case as you will actually need to invest money into the stock market and you need to pick the right stocks which is where their newsletter comes in.
The video certainly makes it seem like this is literally a magic bullet and that basically anyone can get rich from it.
Sure you could get good results but ultimately you are probably not going to achieve the claimed 5, 6 and 7 figure bonus checks in my honest opinion.
If you are a more experienced stock investor and you use the tips to invest more wisely then yes you could potentially see big gains but nothing is guaranteed here.
One day bonus conclusion
My conclusion for the one day bonus website is that this is legitimate newsletter for investing in companies that have the potential to be bought out by bigger companies. When you invest in these newer companies you are obviously taking a risk that will not always pay off however when it does pay off you have the chance at seeing huge gains and seeing the price of your stock go up in value a considerable amount.
That is really the whole point of the video and the paid newsletter known as the buyout millionaires club.
Do I recommend it? In all honesty if you are a serious investor who wants to cash in on this type of investing technique then yes I do. However if you are just someone who likes the sound of getting bonus checks but doesn’t have a lot of money to invest and isn’t really that serious about the stock market then no I don’t recommend it, purely because I don’t think you will ever have a chance of achieving the results that are talked about in the video.
So my overall conclusion is that yes it’s a legitimate newsletter / program but it’s not for everyone.

This includes an increase to magic find, increasing the chance of higher rarity equipment, as well as an increased chance of obtaining flux treasures and chaos chests from lairs and dungeons.
History
Trove started off having 100% cubit bonuses on weekends, but after patch - 4/28/15, daily bonuses were introduced, from more harvesting drops to additional shard drops. After the heart attack patch, glim and double cubit bonuses were removed for additional bonuses and before the patch - 6/22/16 there was a 50% (100% for patron user) faster fishing bonus that was replaced with bonus gem boxes.
Prior to the heroes patch, the monday bonus granted +20% drops from gardening, tuesday granted +50% ore drops, wednesday granted +25% gem box drops, thursday granted +200% adventure loot drops, friday granted +100% radiant and shadow shard drops, saturday granted +50% adventure experience, and sunday granted +50% battle arena win experience. All of these bonuses were doubled for patrons.
After the update, the bonuses were changed to what they currently are due to player requests, including monday becoming shadow day due to players often completing shadow towers on the first day of the reset, tuesday including a bonus to fishing speed (however, this also means that bonus fishing weeks will no longer occur due to technical limitations), wednesday allowing for lustrous gem boxes to be obtained (including a chance for gem augments), thursday including an increase to adventurine drops, friday increasing dragon coin and dragon egg fragment drops, saturday including more types of experience and sunday increasing flux income.
